You have two options.

-FOLLOW THE KITTEN further into the forest. She went SOUTH, in the direction of the nearest glittering object-- though it is now getting so dark that you cannot see much of a reflection from it any more.

-GO EAST off the trail, deeper into the woods. It looks quite dark down there, where the trees get dense and thickly clustered.

((20th post! Yay!))

You pick up the purring kitten, meaning to take it home and care for it, but it squirms out of your arms and runs off deeper into the forest.

You bend down and pet the kitten. It purrs happily. It seems very glad to get some attention. It's pretty thin, and looks like it hasn't been fed in a while. You start to wonder if you should give her a name.

You have a closer look at the kitten. No collar, no tags. She looks pretty lonely, though. She'd probably like to come with you.

You pull out your cell phone and capture the pretty view. Heck, you go right ahead and make it your phone wallpaper.

You then attempt to text your mum and explain the situation, but you find that you have no signal at all here.

 

That attempted, you climb down the tree and head further SOUTH.

You can still see the glimmer. It is quite close now. There is an adorable kitten here.

You head over to the sign to take a closer look.

After that, you find a nice, climbable tree and scale it easily, hoping to get a better view. You can see the forest stretching out in front of you, and there are several more of the shiny objects reflecting the setting sun from amongst the trees.

You enter the forest. It's beautiful, even though it's starting to get dark. There is a sign on a nearby tree, but you can't read it from this distance. The path continues to lead SOUTH.

You head out of the back door and into the yard. You can either return to the house, or continue SOUTH to the forest. The sun is beginning to set, but you can still see that shining thing glinting away in what remains of the daylight.

(Unlucky 13! Oooooh!)    *NOTE! I made an important edit to the previous post. If you can't see what's new, it's this: When you looked through the window, you saw something shining in the forest.*

You go back down the stairs, pass through the living room--empty except for yet more unpacked boxes and the TV--and go into the kitchen. You parents are taking a break from moving your stuff in and are having a cheerful conversation.

Exits are WEST, back to the living room, and SOUTH, out to the yard through the back door.

You go back to the EAST room and look out of the window. You see something shining out in the forest.

You are on the second floor and it is far too high to safely jump. You could probably climb down from here if you were careful, but considering there is a door right downstairs, it may not be the wisest option.

This will be your parents' room. There are more boxes and a large window.

As soon as you enter this room, you hear a very loud crash. It seems to come from EAST of the house, where the forest is.

You take the teddy bear and your phone charger from the boxes. They are stored in your inventory (see Inventory tab).

You pull open the boxes. Most of them are filled with clothes and bedsheets, but there is also a box full of books, a box containing your laptop and bundles of cables and chargers, and your childhood teddy bear.

You go back through the landing and into the room to the NORTH.

 This will be your bedroom, but right now it is just filled with boxes. There is only one exit, SOUTH--back to the landing.

The small window swings closed easily. You feel quite comfortable now that the cold breeze has stopped. Outside you can see your back yard with a path leading to the cheery-looking forest beyond.

Your mother must be planning on using this as a spare room. There are very few boxes on the floor. The window is open, and a cold wind whistles into the room, billowing out the curtains.

You listen carefully. You can just about hear the murmur of your parents' voices downstairs. The faint whistle of wind from an open window comes from the room to your EAST, rattling the door in its frame.

Other than this, silence.

Exits remain to your NORTH, EAST, and WEST, and the stairs you came from are to your SOUTH.

There are doors to the NORTH, WEST, and EAST. The stairs you just came up are to the SOUTH.

You take the cherished family photo from the wall. It is now in your inventory (see inventory tab).

You are in the hallway of your new house. It is quite nice, but it doesn't feel like home yet. You see that your mother has already put up her favorite picture.

Your name is Ivy Gladwine. You are seventeen years old. You and your parents have just arrived at your new house in the town of Sevenwillows. This town is notoriously secretive, and they do not like outsiders. Your parents grew up here, and so you are sure you will be accepted, but you can't help but wonder what the townspeople might be hiding...

Your parents are inside, unpacking. You are free to go where you like. The house is to your north. South of you is more town.
